It’s officially spring, so it’s a great time to start fresh by decluttering your home and donating items you no longer need. Make it easy on yourself with this guide to decluttering and donating to ReStore.
Decluttering offers several benefits, including easier cleaning and a sense of personal accomplishment. You also help others by donating items they can buy at reduced prices and extending the life of those items through resale. And when you donate to ReStore, you support Habitat’s homeownership program, which helps working families thrive in our community.
Not sure how to get started? Read on for everything you need to know about ReStore donations and all the treasures you’ll find in the store!
Park City ReStore Donations
ReStore is Habitat for Humanity’s thrift store and boutique, where people can score amazing finds at incredible discounts. The home goods department sells new and gently used home improvement goods and furnishings, while the boutique is an excellent spot to find new clothing, as well as bed and bath products.
The store accepts a wide variety of donation items: furniture, flooring, tile, artwork, appliances, lamps, bed frames, and more. View the list of donation items the store accepts. Drop off your ReStore donations Monday through Saturday, between 10 am and 6:30 pm. The Park City ReStore is located at 6280 Silver Creek Drive, just beyond the Home Depot near Silver Creek Village.
You can also arrange to have your ReStore donations picked up at your home or place of business, either by our team or by a third-party service. With our free standard pick-up option, our staff will collect items placed in a garage or carport or on the driveway or sidewalk. Scheduling is based on availability.
With our third-party priority option, pick-ups can be scheduled as soon as two business days from making the reservation, depending on time-slot availability. This team can disassemble furniture when needed and will pick up items of any condition. They charge a small pick-up fee to cover operating costs, but you’re getting a great deal. This fee is less than what a typical moving company or junk hauler charges, and your donated items are tax-deductible for additional savings.
You can book a free pickup or third-party priority pickup on the Park City ReStore website. Keep your receipt for tax deduction purposes and feel good knowing your donations are supporting affordable housing projects in Summit and Wasatch counties.
Planning a bigger change to your home? Suppose you’re remodeling or demolishing a home. In that case, ReStore can work with you and your contractor to salvage reusable household materials, everything from cabinets and lighting fixtures to countertops and appliances, so that they can find a new life in someone else’s home.
