As a nonprofit organization that relies on donations of money, building materials, and labor to make affordable housing more accessible to people in our community, we are grateful for our corporate partners and the impact they make in helping us achieve our goals. 

Corporate partnerships are vital to our ability to build new homes, advocate for housing policies and offer financial education to people in Summit and Wasatch Counties. Read on to learn more about the benefits of corporate partnerships – both for Habitat for Humanity and for the organizations that work with us.
 

Why Partner with Habitat for Humanity

By partnering with Habitat, corporations demonstrate their strong commitment to the local community and to helping solve housing issues for people in need. You may think your team must have prior construction experience to work with us. Nope! 

Our volunteer projects involve tasks for all skill levels and abilities, and there are a variety of ways to get involved with Habitat. Group projects could include working at the Park City ReStore, volunteering at one of our events throughout the year, or joining a committee to help plan events, programs, and fundraising efforts. 

In addition to inviting our corporate partners to do group volunteer projects with us, we also gladly accept donations of overstock products and furniture. Monetary and in-kind donations are used to purchase necessary materials, pay for costs associated with construction, and fund our financial education courses. 
 

Volunteer Projects Are the Ultimate Team-Building Activity

Taking on a project as a group is a highly efficient way to get things done. Our corporate teams already have experience working together, and they come armed with diverse skill sets. Habitat benefits a great deal from our corporate partnerships. And, in return, our partners benefit from their volunteer work with us.

Group volunteer projects with Habitat are a powerful team-building activity. Tackling a group project can improve employee morale, strengthen work relationships, teach new skills, and reveal associates’ tenacity in ways you don’t experience in an office setting. 

Volunteering your time, skills, and expertise to help us provide affordable housing to local families in need lets participants challenge themselves and collaborate with teammates on rewarding tasks, all while seeing how their hard work changes the lives of those they help. 

One of the current group projects we offer is decorating a holiday tree or gingerbread house for our Celebrating Home Holiday Tree Show.  Submitting an entry can be a fun end-of-year activity for a business that wants to do more than another in-office party.

Returning in 2025 will be construction volunteer opportunities. A special and highly rewarding aspect of volunteering on a home build with Habitat is that you may work alongside the future homeowner who will move into the place you’re working on. To qualify for a Habitat home, the prospective homeowners must meet specific requirements, including putting in hundreds of hours of “sweat equity,” which can involve building their home and the homes of others.
